This happened to me some minutes ago.

Having done the 4 quests, I was looking for a Mallyx party in GoA English district 1.

I joined one, we were ready, then the party leader wrote in the party chat:

"Player <name> hasn't killed the 4 bosses"

Immediately after that, we were in the mission.

Knowing about the exploit for which some player have been banned, I stopped fighting and asked:

"How is possible that we're here if someone hasn't completed the 4 quests?"

Answers:

- XD

Well, we went on and Mallyx killed us

(probably because monks were using enchants, we had skills disabled and teleportings).
But I remain with my doubts.

I want to know: is there a possible exploit around?

Is it safe to join a Mallyx PUG without running the risk to be involved in some kind of hack/trick of which a casual player is unaware, with the result of being banned?

Is it possible to play this game just relaxing after work?

Yes it's safe.

If you do get banned for it, contact their help desk and they'll probably unban you with enough of an explanation.

It could be that the person hadn't talked to Zhellix yet. If there's a guy in your party who has killed them all, but hasn't verified it with Zhellix, when anybody in the party tries to go to Mallyx he will say "player 'x' has not done everything" or whatever. The guy might have talked to him after he said that, solving the issue.

Or it could be a giant exploit.

To answer your question, yes it is safe. Mallyx is rediculously easy.

It's safe... well depending what you mean by "safe". Bug-wise, they might have been all cleared, so it's safe.

Now if you wanna win, it's less safe >_>. I'd suggest going with a partial guild group and have key people at key spots, if you can't get a full guild group. Yes Mallyx is easy, but PUGs fail the easiest places...

Good thing you screenshotted all though. If you'd be involved in an exploit, at least you got the proof you knew something fishy was going on.

Dang, I thought this was gonna be about how groups want everyone to take consumables into the mallyx quests, then the last 2 or so people refuse to use theirs and then rage quit when you ask them why they won't use it, since other people have already used their consumables. Cause that's starting to happen all the damn time anymore.

I don't get why people think PuGs are like the devil or something, they're really not that bad. Unless you get that one epic douche bag, in which case you just kick him.

Yes you're safe to join a PuG for Mallyx.

You shouldn't worry about them banning for such a small thing - they didn't ban players who just entered there once and there was a possibility they could simply not know it was an exploit. They only banned those who did that repeatedly, abusing the exploit multiple times.

No, after people finish the quest it is VERY common that they do not talk to the npc to update the quest, which acknowledges they killed the bosses. I myself did this half an hr ago before going into kill mallyx.

It will say so and so has not killed the bosses, when in reality they just did not talk to the dude after killing the bosses to "start the attack" on the ebony city.

Yeah i was about to slay mallyx for the very first time and i was in a pug, that kind of got raped in about a minute lol.

Says it all, if you have to ask that question it better to error in the thinking it's wrong. Even if it ok.

You never know what might happen, you could get in the line of fire and not even mean to. And then we would be sitting here reading that you where banned bacuse you thought it was ok. (which is no excuse).

It is very doable to join a pug. At least when using Ursanway and one person brings a consumable set. I did it four times, of which three succeeded.
